Kelly-Moore Paint Co.'s headquarters will be moving from the Bay Area to Dallas-Fort Worth after the city of Irving in Texas approved an economic incentive package.

Kelly-Moore plans to relocate its operations from San Carlos to a 15,000-square-foot facility at 500 E. John Carpenter Freeway. The agreement with Irving requires that it do so before the end of 2024.

Kelly-Moore will receive a $75,000 grant for economic development as part of this agreement.

As part of the agreement, the company must create 30 full-time positions with salaries averaging $100,000.

Kelly-Moore relocated its manufacturing operation to Hurst in Texas in 2017.

Kelly-Moore CEO Charles Gassenheimer said in a prepared press release that since centralizing its multiple manufacturing facilities to Hurst they have enjoyed the North Texas community and look forward in increasing their engagement with local communities.

Gassenheimer stated that locating the corporate headquarters of the company near its production facilities would allow for "even better innovation and production."

He added that the combination of Kelly-Moore’s 157 retail outlets in Northern California and Southwest, along with its excellence in manufacturing, distribution, and sales, all based in Texas, was a recipe for Kelly-Moore’s continued national success.

Kelly-Moore has over 1,200 employees and a revenue of more than $340 millions.

In October 2022, an affiliate of Flacks Group purchased the company.
