According to reports, the Phoenix Suns newest player has signed a partnership with Nike for a lifetime.
Boardroom Media Network reported the deal. They said it was a continuation of a relationship that Durant and Nike had started in Durant's rookie year in 2007.
Boardroom reported that Nike and Durant have been working together for many years to improve the community. The partnership is now preparing to release the 16th signature shoe.
Yahoo Sports reported that Durant founded Boardroom along with his longtime Manager Rich Kleinman.
Boardroom reported that Durant said, "We've done incredible work creatively and in a philanthropic way."
Mat Ishbia, who took over the Phoenix Suns in February, brought Durant to the team. Ishbia, Suns President James Jones of Basketball Operations and several players were traded to bring Durant from Brooklyn Nets.
The Suns are in the NBA Playoffs. They won a Western Conference Series against the Clippers and began a Western Conference Series against the Nuggets.
Durant and Nike announced their deal on the same day the Suns announced they had canceled their broadcast agreement with Bally Sports. They have now signed a new media deal which will allow the NBA team and the Phoenix Mercury to be shown on free-to-air television during the 2023-2024 seasons.
