Atletico Madrid agree €95m deal with Manchester City for Julian Alvarez

Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with an English club for the transfer of a striker. The deal is worth up to €95 million. The player, who is valued as the Premier League club’s record sale, will join Atletico Madrid this summer. The 24-year-old forward joined the English club from River Plate in January 2022 for €17m and extended his contract in March 2023 until 2028. He is set to become Atletico’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth. Atletico Madrid is also interested in signing a midfielder from Chelsea who has rejected contract offers. The forward had a successful season with his current club, contributing 19 goals and 13 assists, and playing a crucial role in their domestic and international triumphs.
