Police said that seven people were injured by gunfire in a Richmond, Virginia park on Tuesday, as families and high school graduates emerged from a theatre where the commencement exercises just ended.

Interim Richmond Police Chief Rick Edwards, along with other officials, told reporters that two suspects had been taken into custody after the shooting. The incident occurred shortly after 5 pm EDT at the Virginia Commonwealth University campus, where high school graduation ceremonies for the local area were taking place.
