TikTok’s global trust and safety unit will have a new leader, according to an internal company memo. Cormac Keenan, who has led trust and safety since 2020, will transition into a strategic advisory role. Adam Presser will now lead TikTok’s global trust and safety unit. The unit’s staff will remain unchanged. Additionally, two other senior leaders in Europe, Theo Bertram and Rich Waterworth, will be leaving the company. These leadership changes come amid ongoing scrutiny over the safety of TikTok’s platform. During his time as the leader, Keenan implemented various features and policies to address these concerns. TikTok plans to invest $2 billion in trust and safety efforts by 2024.
